I've
done my best at rough auditions when I went in with the following thought:
"I'm great but I may not be right for this band or projectso
I don't care if I get it or notI will
have fun, do my best, and if I SHOULD get it, I
will If I don't get it, then it's not right for me"
(like I wouldn't fit in, or it wouldn't be fun )
This way, I find I present my drum style at it's best, and
not try to fit
in to what I think they want... Worrying about
it will just make me not
play my best.
Always come to an audition prepared & EARLY. remember, On time is
LATE, And Early is ON TIME.
Bring extra sticks, your favorite pedal, maybe even some cymbals or snare.
AND A DRUM KEY!
